They passed each other in the halls as teenagers until one day they decided love was a part of their future, together. Introduced through a mutual friend, Jake & Aymee’s highschool romance lead them to this very day… the day that they would become husband & wife. Each of my JFL couples have different priorities when it comes to their Wedding Day (they are after all as unique as each other) but as soon as I met Jake & Aymee, I knew that having a whole heap of FUN on their wedding day was at the top of their list… and oh my goodness, did they have fun! From the minute Renee & I arrived until the minute we left – we couldn’t stop smiling and needless to say, by the end of the night our cheeks were very very sore!!
Here’s a peek into their Gold Coast Wedding Day story:
Their wedding was held at Coolibah Downs Private Estate, tucked beautifully in the lush green surrounds of the Gold Coast… Aymee ensured all her details flowed perfectly with the relaxed vibe of the wedding day (Oh and a huge thanks to the lovely Tamara from Songbird Silk for providing me with a gorgeous selection of silk ribbon to use with my ring images – the one below matched perfectly with Aymee’s gorgeous details and bridesmaid dresses!)
A quick champagne with her girls before getting dressed…
Once in the quiet of her own room, Aymee read a beautiful card that Jake had written for her… I adore these thoughtful JFL guys!
Meanwhile, Jake was getting ready at their home – surrounded by all of his groomsmen & family… Again, his details were on point! These guys certainly have good taste!
Coolibah Downs was the perfect venue for their summer Ceremony – just picture perfect with a gorgeous arbour (handmade by the groom himself) as their backdrop! The sun was shining and the excitement was building… it was time for these two to become husband & wife!
After a lovely Ceremony officiated by Emily Jade OKeefe, it was time to take advantage of the stunning late afternoon light for their Bridal Portraits. Wasn’t Aymee just a vision – talk about a stunning bride!
With 5 bridesmaids & 5 groomsmen, Jake & Aymee were guaranteed to have a blast – and this is what it’s all about, being surrounded by those you love most on the day you’ll remember forever!
… I always recommend some time out for the newlyweds as well. Jake & Aymee didn’t need much convincing –
As the summer sun set, the final touches were being made to their Reception marquee (Coolibah Downs have the most beautiful silk lined marquee that is just lovely to photograph in! The fact that it’s silk lined, means that the photos are much softer and as a photographer, you can bounce the flash around – which is ideal for an indoor Reception!) Oh and how cute is their cake topper – you can tell Jake is a keen fisherman can’t you! I just love these little personalised details…
From the minute these two entered their Reception – throughout the speeches, the cutting of the cake, the dancing… there was SO much joy & excitement in the air. You could almost taste it!
The rest of the evening was spent enjoying many libations, great music, and even better friendships… we even got a romantic night photo with them before we left! I just adore that LOVE tree at Coolibah Downs!)
Jake & Aymee, thank you for trusting us to document your first day as husband & wife – the huge party that was your Wedding Day was incredible & I just know that together, your future will be even more fun than your past. Lots of love & appreciation, Kylie x
