Over the years I’ve come to think that our work and style is best showcased at vineyards, farms and venues with big open spaces… I just LOVE big compositions and landscapes for portraits (as do all my associate photographers), not to mention how green & lush they always are! This was only one of the many reasons we were super excited to be a part of Lloyd & Simona’s wedding day last weekend! Held at Cedar Creek Estate, a vineyard in the Gold Coast Hinterland, these two sweethearts became husband & wife surrounded by their closest friends & family, some travelling across the globe to be there.
I first met Simona over 12 months ago, when we caught up for lunch to chat about their wedding plans… from the moment I met her, I knew she’d make a perfect JFL bride, with her big heart, kind nature and incredible attention to detail (something I always appreciate!) Wow, was I right! Fast forward to her Wedding Day and whilst I couldn’t be there in person to document it, I got to edit all the images and now I get to call Simona not just a JFL bride but also a close friend of mine – something that I cherish more than anything!
Here’s a glimpse into their Wedding Day story:
Simona decided to get ready at a gorgeous holiday home in Mount Tamborine – which meant they were nice and close to the wedding venue! This always makes the morning that much more relaxed & enjoyable for the bride, her bridesmaids & family…
There’s always time for a couple of champagne photos before it’s time for the bride to get dressed… by the way, how beautiful are their Homebodii robes! Love.
Simona chose to have her mum help her get dressed into her wedding dress – and then surprised her bridesmaids her final reveal. I just adore this as not only do you get to surprise your girls with your finished bridal look – but you get to share some pretty special moments with your mum… and hey, that’s what a wedding day is all about – lots of little special moments to remember forever.
GOLD COAST WEDDING VENUE: CEDAR CREEK ESTATE – VINEYARD & WINERY
Before long, it was time for Lloyd & Simona’s wedding ceremony – in the chapel at Cedar Creek Estate! I had been watching the weather forecast all week and with thunderstorms predicted, so our photographers had umbrellas and wet weather gear at the ready… but thankfully our weather prayers were answered and none of it was needed! Proof that you can’t always trust the weather forecast!
Moments before Simona & Lloyd become husband & wife…
After a beautiful ceremony and some group photo fun, it was time for some photos with their bridal party – which also makes for a perfect time to celebrate the fact that these two were now MARRIED!
As the sun started to turn golden, the girls took to the vineyards for some pretty photos with their stunning florals by Inspired By Love Events…
while the boys had their own version of fun!
Meanwhile, the finishing touches were being put on their wedding reception – held in the barrel room at Cedar Creek Estate. Such romantic styling, Gemma from Inspired By Love Events is seriously so talented – with the perfect amount of florals, candlelight and golden touches. Perfect for Simona & Lloyd’s stunning vineyard wedding – and a perfect place to celebrate their marriage with their friends & family!
Introducing Mr & Mrs McIlroy!
After the formalities were finished, it was time for Simona & Lloyd to take to the dance floor as husband & wife… before all of their guests joined in and danced the night away!
Lloyd & Simona, thank you so much. I have cherished being a part of this journey of yours and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both as husband & wife! I know that whatever is in store – it’s going to be an amazing and can’t wait to see it unfold. I have so much love for you guys!
