Ashley knew Rayno was a ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of guy from the moment she first met him… high school sweethearts, he used to pick her up from school, often with a rose sneakily picked from his mum’s garden – just to brighten her day. This would be the start of not only a life long romance, but also a life long adventure as each others best friend. From the very beginning 8 years ago, this day was destined to arrive … and on a summer’s day at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland, they became husband and wife, surrounded by their closest friends & family!

Rayno & Ash, thank you for making your wedding day such a joy to document! Your family made us feel like long, lost members and your friends made us feel like one of them… We have so much love for you both and can’t wait to see what the future holds for people as amazing as yourselves. So much love & appreciation, Kylie & Nick xx

While the bride & groom prepared at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat on the Gold Coast, Nick stayed to document Rayno getting dressed… while I was with his bride, Ashley.

Ashley surprised Rayno with a new The Horse time keeper, to wear on his wedding day… how nice is it! I just love that tan coloured band, against the blue of the suit!

Rayno, being the sweet guy that he is, created a book for Ashley to read on the morning of her wedding day… there were lots of tears as she moved through each page… reading the words that he designed for her, his bride to be.

Ashley wanted to surprise her bridesmaids, mum & mum in law when she was in her wedding dress… so she choose to do a little bit of a reveal which I just adored… this is another reason why having two photographers is so important! Nick was here with us by this time, so I could capture Ashley as she exited the bedroom & Nick could focus on the ladies reaction! Love!

The beautiful bride, Ashley fell in love with her “Bella” dress, made by the talented Made With Love Bridal on the Gold Coast (who also made the bridesmaid dresses!)… it was simply stunning and fit her just perfectly…

This was the first time I had photographed a wedding at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and wow, I was not disappointed!! The wedding ceremony was held on their Moonlight Crag cliff top deck, overlooking the valley below – it was amazing to hear all of their guests reactions as they arrived and walked through the trees to be met by this breathe taking view… Just incredible!

Here comes the bride…

The lovely Annie from Annie Grace Ceremonies lead Rayno & Ashley through one of the most personal & touching wedding ceremonies I have ever experienced… there were tears, laughter and joy as these two became husband & wife. For any brides looking for a celebrant, I highly recommend Annie! You can thank me later!

The amazing staff at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat then took us to a few different spots for the wedding portraits… I always like to start with a fun photo of the whole bridal party – just to get everyone relaxing & having fun!!

Then I steal the newlyweds away for a more intimate moment… Rayno & Ashley made it way too easy!

We then made our way out of the rainforest to Luke’s Bluff… this is now one of my favourite locations to photograph – I’m sure you can see why!! Such magnificent views all the way to the Great Dividing Range and that light, was just magical. Perfect for such a gorgeous bride & groom…

… and there is always time for a sunset portrait as the sun sets on their first day as husband & wife.

Back to the wedding reception at the Lost World Conference Centre within O’Reilly’s, the guests were ready to celebrate with the bride & groom, surrounded by some beautiful details.

… and lastly, before Nick & I left them to dance the night away with their guests, we stole the newlyweds for a quick sparkler photo… a perfect end to a perfect day!
