One of the best things about my job is the amazing people I get to meet along the way – Sean & Emma are perfect examples of that. I met them both when they were bridesmaid & groomsmen for Rhys & Tui, another one of my gorgeous couples who were married last year. I was honoured when Emma considered me to document her own wedding. Wow, what an incredible wedding it was! Emma and Sean married at High Church, Brisbane, perched on a hill overlooking the Storey Bridge. They promised to each other to continue their love not by way of mere words, but actions. Here is a glimpse into their Wedding Day story:
Sean proposed to Emma in New York, a place that is close to both their hearts, with her Grandmother’s Ring… I can just imagine the stories that this ring could tell if it could speak. How incredibly special!
Emma spent the morning surrounded by her family & bridesmaids before getting ready to become Sean’s wife. The vibe that morning was relaxed, everyone was enjoying spending time with each other. Exactly what the morning of a wedding should be! Then it was time to get dressed… how incredible is the lace on the gown she chose by Lover – The Label! The high neck & low back – stunning!
The morning of a Wedding Day always goes so fast! Before they knew it they were headed to High Church where Sean & Emma would become husband & wife. Nick and I always get there with plenty of time to document the setup, the groom greeting guests and the bride’s arrival. Main Event Weddings did an amazing job styling this incredible Wedding Ceremony space (and in record time I might add!) – I’m so glad we had the time to photograph all their hard work!
I love the anticipation just before the bride walks down the aisle… the air is electric with excitement – and a bit of nervousness for good measure!
Emma & Sean chose Carly Slade as their celebrant and wow, did she do a fabulous job! She is as lovely as she is talented… I would highly recommend her to all of my couples!
After the family photos with the newlyweds, we then ran up the hill for the bridal portraits using the last of the winter light. I just adore this spot with the Storey Bridge in the background – perfect for a Brisbane City Wedding!
Lightspace here in Brisbane had been chosen for their Wedding Reception, with Emma excitedly telling me about all of the greenery that would be installed into the Reception space… and wow, when we walked in I was speechless. It was even better than I could have imagined…
Main Event Weddings did it again – just ahhhmazing! That greenery installation with hanging edison bulbs was utter Reception perfection. I cannot wait to work with them again! We made sure that we planned a quick photo with Sean & Emma in this space before the guests entered (hence the importance of a Wedding Day timeline!)
Even the guests were impressed entering this space for Sean & Emma’s Reception… so many oooh’s, aaah’s & selfies!
The night was then underway with heartfelt speeches, good food, dancing and a group dancefloor photo or two! Needless to say, this is a Wedding that will be remembered by everyone for years and years to come!
Sean & Emma, thank you for being two of the most amazing people. Ever. You are what’s right and good with the world…and Nick & I are thrilled to have been a part of your perfect wedding day. We appreciate your thoughtful care and consideration and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both!
A huge thanks to the creative team that helped this gorgeous couple bring their Wedding Day vision to life:
