Meeting a couple, learning their story and spending their Wedding right by their side is such a personal experience… one that I feel honoured to go through time & time again with each of my JFL couples. From the moment I first met Andy & Rach and got to know them better, I knew that their Wedding Day would be a celebration of who they were and what they shared – it would be full of fun, laughter & happy tears… and I couldn’t have been more right! Last Saturday, these two became husband & wife on a perfect winter’s day in Ipswich, QLD… holding their Reception at one of my favourite Ipswich venues, The Workshop Rail Museum (you just wait until you see the brick buildings and stunning light you get at sunset there!) It was a day that I’ll always remember fondly and felt so very honoured to be trusted to document it for them!
Here is a glimpse into their beautiful Wedding Day story:
Rach’s day began at the Metro Hotel, surrounded by the ladies she loves most in the world – her bridesmaids, Kady & Kathie and her lovely mum, Carol. While they were getting ready, I started photographing some of her beautiful details… including the most amazing bottle of perfume I think i’d ever seen. I mean, it looks just like a cupcake!!
After all the hair & makeup was complete, we had time for a few celebratory glasses of bubbles before it was time for Rach to get dressed into her stunning Wedding Dress…
The morning of a Wedding Day really does go by so quickly – before we knew it, Rach was arriving at the Church – ready to become Mrs Donald! Oh the excitement!
As predicted, there was plenty of laughter & happy tears… and a newly married kiss or two!
After their beautiful Ceremony, we made our way to The Workshops Rail Museum for their Bridal Portraits… this venue is so unique with so many gorgeous buildings, it even has a steam train you can use for photos (with lovely staff to ensure you get ‘the shot’ with real smoke and all!)
As I like to get to know my couples really well, I asked them both what they love most about each other (yes, I’m super romantic and love LOVE)
Rach shared with me “The fact that he makes me laugh every single day, even if I don’t feel like laughing he always picks me up, looks after me and makes me happier than I have ever been!”
Andy was just as sweet when he answered “If I come home and have had a horrible day, I know Rach will be there will a smile and a cuddle and make everything seem okay.” See, aren’t these two just the sweetest!
As the sun finished setting, it was time to make our way back to the function room at The Workshops Rail Museum for their Wedding Reception…
Their night was filled with sweet moments (I adore this photo of them holding framed pics of their own parents on their Wedding Day), heartfelt speeches and memories made with all of their closest friends & family. Exactly how your Wedding Reception should unfold I think!
Andy & Rach, thank you again for not only trusting us to document your Wedding Day, but also for just being you. I mean it when I say you are the sweetest couple and I know you have an amazing future ahead of you both as husband & wife! Congratulations again! Lots of love, K xx
