“THERE ARE NO BORDERS WITH LOVE, IT IS WILD AND FREE ” – J. IRONWORD
I believe as a wedding photographer it is part of my job to be aware of new wedding venues & vendors as they pop up in the industry – so that I can make better recommendations to my JFL couples to help them plan their wedding day… so you can imagine how excited I was to hear about Kooroomba Lavender Farm last year. Inspired by the lavender farms in southern France, this incredible venue is honestly the only one of it’s kind in Queensland – so of course, I gathered some of my favourite wedding vendors to create some stunning JFL wedding inspiration. This is a glimpse into the magic we made that afternoon at Kooroomba:
I was lucky enough to collaborate with some of the most talented people in the Brisbane Wedding Industry… I mean, just look at how incredible the invitations were that I Am Poppy Designs created for us! Not to mention the intricate lace gown from Emmy Mae Bridal (the sister company of Made With Love Bridal) I was just little bit in love you guys!
In line with the European inspiration for this shoot, we decided to use the exterior of the cellar door for the Ceremony space… the exposed stone wall is so stunning and the talented Mrs Gibbons Flowers also created some incredible floral installations for the sides of the entrance doors, transforming them into a vertical wedding arch!
We then took to the lavender fields for some ‘just married’ portraits…
I LOVE working with other creatives on these kinds of shoots – it’s a real treat to see how they interpret the vision and bring it to life! Jessica from House Of Lilley did all the styling and explained “my inspiration came from personal experience in the wine region of France, where the evenings started with aperitifs in the garden as the sun set on the day that was; where the wine flowed from one course to another as we dined under the stars till the late hours of the night.” I’ve never been to France, but this sounds pretty perfect to me!
As the golden sun started to set, we took advantage of this dreamy setting to take some more portraits…
p.s this couch was just sitting inside the restaurant at Kooroomba, we knew we had to use it as soon as we spotted it! I mean, it’s velvet and everything!
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank all the amazing vendors that helped bring this inspiration to life! I’m constantly in awe of the incredible & generous people I get to work with each & every weekend and I couldn’t do it without them. From my heart to yours, thank you. Love, Kylie xx
