I think it might have something to do with the fact that I grew up on a farm out in the country, but there is just nothing I love more than wide open spaces… which is why I’m a little in love with Mavis Kitchen after Trev & Kat’s wedding last weekend. When we first started chatting about their wedding, celebrating it with their guests was really important to them – so we made sure that there was time in their day for them to join their guests as much as they could! Married by their good friend Steph from Stephanie Leigh Ceremonies, every minute of their wedding was touched with sweet moments, lovely sentiments and utter joy. It really was an honour to be a part of their day – and I honestly didn’t want to leave at the end of the night!
Here’s a glimpse into their Wedding Day story that unfolded at Mavis’s Kitchen:
WEDDING VENUE: MAVIS’S KITCHEN, MOUNT WARNING
Kat got ready in “The Old Dairy” – a private cabin at Mavis’s Kitchen that was the perfect backdrop for the morning of her Wedding Day. She got ready with her bridesmaids – Jess, Sarah & Ash – and her lovely mum, Leonie. I must admit, I was a little in love with these stone walls…
Kat chose a Wedding Dress that was made by a good friend of mine, Carla at Made With Love Bridal. Seriously, how stunning is that lace…
After the girls had finished with their hair & makeup, we took some time to pop some bubbles and enjoy a laugh or two with her lovely bridesmaids. One of her bridesmaids, Sarah had the best techniques to make the others laugh – I was well impressed…
Before long it was time for their Wedding Ceremony. Trev & Kat chose to hold it on the hill at Mavis’s Kitchen, overlooking the stunning Mount Warning mountain ranges! You should have heard the guests as they arrived after their 5 minute shuttle bus to the location – I’ve never heard so many ooh’s & aaah’s!
Here she comes… the moment everyone, especially Trev had been waiting for!
Introducing Mr & Mrs Davis!
It’s moments like these that just melt my heart – and another reason you need two photographers for your Wedding Day. With two of us, we can just capture twice as many sweet moments… these are the ones that mean the most!
After a lovely Ceremony and a epic group photo, it was time to take some photos with the newlyweds & their bridal party! With this kind of backdrop, there was no need to go anywhere else!
Talk about a bridal party on point! You guys were all so much fun to be around, thank you for all your help and helping make Trev & Kat’s Wedding Day as special as it was! I can just tell you all mean the world to them!
Utter perfection. Still my beating heart.
I always like to ask my couples when they first book me, what they love most about each other. It gives me the most lovely insight into them & their relationship. When I asked Trev this question, he answered “I love Kat’s smile that can light up a whole room. I love that she is the most caring and thoughtful person I know and that coming home to her everyday makes me feel like the luckiest man alive.”
You can see the way he feels by the way he looks at her… I was privileged to document this type of love and their first day as husband & wife! p.s Talk about #bridegoals, Kat, you are a vision my love!
As the sun set on their Wedding Day, the newlyweds went and joined their guests at Canapés – while I started taking photos of their stunning Reception setup… look at all of those fairy lights!
Kat & Trev entered to the biggest of applauses – their loved ones ready to celebrate the night away with them! Their Wedding Reception was filled with good food, laughter, some great speeches and a whole lot of dancing! All the ingredients you need for an amazing night with the people you love, after becoming husband & wife!
Kat & Trev, thank you. Thank you for being two of the sweetest, most lovely people I have had the honour of getting to know. Thank you for trusting me to document this time in your lives – I honestly cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both! Lots of love, K x
I’d love to hear what you think – leave me a comment below (it honestly will make my day!) and I’m sure the newlyweds would appreciate some kind words to:
