I'm a girl that had no idea what I wanted to do when I 'grew up'. I tried everything... more than once. But this gig called Wedding Photography stuck. It stuck to me like the memory of a great holiday, the taste of my fav wine or the feeling of a warm hug from my main man, Nick. I fell in love with how it feels to be a part of my JFL couples life leading up to their wedding and then their first day as husband & wife... and now, nothing compares. Even 6 years in.
I spend my days when I'm not behind the camera at a wedding, making sure that each of my JFL brides are well looked after, from help & advice to a private FB group for them to connect and chat with each other... I even brave live video in order to help them as much as I can (you guys, that shiz is scary!) Some of my JFL brides even call me their Wedding Fairy Godmother... and you know what, it's one of my favourite titles (apart from Spencer calling me mama!)
On a more random note, I've just taken up drinking G+T (Ink Gin is my jam), I adore Thai or Italian and will never say no to Ice Cream or Chocolate. Who can?! NIck & I are getting married ourselves in October and I cannot wait to officially be his wife - after almost 10 years of dating. I think that shows how patient I am - lucky he's worth the wait!
Gin! I feel so grown up drinking a Gin + Tonic. Plus, I just love it when I add Tonic water to my Ink Gin and it changes colour... a little drama. Everyone needs a little bit of drama in their life - this is mine!
True Crime Podcasts. They just really intrigue me. Often I'll listen to one on the way to an engagement session, wedding or while I'm editing. Quite the juxta-position considering the beauty I'm witnessing in my real life... My favourite at the moment, MFM. Who would have thought a True Crime x Comedy podcast would be so good! (and yes, I do identify as a Murderino now!)
Indoor Plants. Growing up, my mum was a total green thumb. Her gardens (and skill for keeping things alive) were incredible! Whilst I have a LONG way to go to get to that level, I can proudly say I am a plant mama to 15 plant babies and counting... Nick jokes that our home is turning into a jungle, little does he know that's what I'm aiming for!
ICE-CREAM. Oh. Em. Gee. My total weakness. When I was pregnant with Spencer, I used the excuse of having 'cravings' to eat Ice-cream nearly every day of my pregnancy. It was bliss. Flavour of choice: Mint Choc Chip. Or Raspberry. Or Mango & White Choc. Ok, I can't choose just one you guys!
Christmas. I know, who doesn't. But guys, I REALLY LOVE Christmas. I wish I could sing Christmas carols all year round and we could leave our tree up indefinitely... but Nick is a bit of a grinch and would never have it! When Spencer was born I didn't know any nursery rhymes so I've sung him Christmas Carols instead - hopefully he grows up to love it as much as I do!
