“SHE MADE GENTLE THE WILD OCEANS OF MY SOUL” – Atticus
So often I have daydreams. It doesn’t seem to matter where I am – an idea, a vision, a thought will pop into my mind and my imagination will take hold of it. This particular day I started dreaming about elopements and if Nick & I were to elope, how would we do it? Where would it be? What would I wear? I know I’d like to do something a little different, something that would give us a story to tell our children, something intimate, romantic and a little bit wild… and so this Tweed Coast elopement inspiration concept was born. A huge thank you goes out to the dream team that helped me bring this concept to life, there is so much hard work that goes into such an incredible shoot, so from my heart to yours, thank you (the full list of talented vendors is at the bottom of this post, I highly recommend each & every one of them!)
Here’s a glimpse into the magic we made that afternoon:
Set against the dramatic landscape of the northern coast of NSW, it features Wes & Zoe declaring their love for each other – and doing it in style – in their own, unique way. The overall feeling of this editorial was one of romance, intimate connection with the surrounds, and an understated elegance with an edge! I loved everything about it – especially the hand dyed gown that Begitta created for us, to match the subtle blue backdrop of the ocean – and the incredible volcanic rocks that were under their feet.
I love hearing how stylists bring their own interpretation to a particular concept or idea. For this shoot, Emma from Coco & Confetti shared “For this table setting we wanted to play with the idea of traditional coastal wedding styling, so starting with some of the more classic features like weathered white timber furniture and mollusk shell details, before layering in personality through playful additions like the unique hand-cast resin dinnerware and an almost ‘gemstone’ theme in the veins of gold and bold berry accents.” Amazing. How incredible is the gold leaf on this cake by I Heart Cakes by Casey! Perfection really is all in the attention to detail…
The sky put on the most magical display of colour for us as we were wrapping up – almost a sign from mother earth that she approved. What an magical way to end the most incredible day…
