Sometimes I just love that the world sometimes feels so small… you know what they say about the whole 6 degrees of separation. That means that everyone is connected in some way or another – and that seriously gives me the warm & fuzzies. My gorgeous couple Taela + Sam are total proof of that concept. Years ago, when I was living in Toowoomba (so you guys, when I say years – I mean YEARS) I worked at this lovely little cafe called The Chocolate Cottage. It was the perfect fit, I was – and still am – a little obsessed with anything chocolate. Well, it turns out that my gorgeous JFL bride Taela is actually the daughter of the couple that own that very cafe. That must be less than 6 degrees right there – and made for an even sweeter experience for me on their wedding day!
Taela + her love Sam got married at the stunning Preston Peak Winery in Toowoomba and my goodness, it was a beautiful day. Not only did she have the most beautiful details and florals (a girl after my own heart) but this venue is one of my absolute favourites – and in my hometown! Congratulations again you pair! I hope you love this little peek into what your day looked like through my lens and I hope you love the images as much as I loved taking them!
Here’s a peek into their Preston Peak Wedding Day:
Taela got ready with her gorgeous bridesmaids at her parents home just out of town in Highfields. When I arrived I started documenting all her pretty details while the lovely hair & makeup team finished pampering the ladies!
Can I also just give a little shout out to the lovely Stacey at Mirror Mirror Makeup Artistry – we follow each other on Instagram, so it was super nice to be able to meet her in person and my goodness she does a wonderful job!! If you’re getting married in Toowoomba, she’s your girl.
Before we knew it Taela was getting dressed into her stunning vintage gown – with the help of her best girlfriends. Can I just say how much I just adore those sheer sleeves!
Meanwhile, Sam was being pampered himself – in a much more masculine way, at the Cook & Co Barber Shop. Perfect for a groom on the morning of his wedding day.
The wedding chapel at Preston Peak really is one of a kind – and made the perfect spot for Taela + Sam to become husband and wife! Just look at that view – it constantly leaves me speechless.
The moment everyone – especially Sam – had been waiting for…
After a beautiful ceremony led by my lovely friend Roxy Hotton (who is also a part of the JFL Wedding Directory too!) – it was time for their group photo and family photos – and then of course we took advantage of the gorgeous spots at Preston Peak for their bridal party portraits! We really were spoilt for choice!
Talk about making my job easy! These two – and their friends – were total naturals in front of the camera and I loved every minute of it!
I love a good black & white photo. These two nailed it.
As the sun started to set, the finishing touches were being put on their Wedding Reception. It was almost ready for them to celebrate into the night with their friends and family…
Introducing Mr & Mrs Bunting!
The night was full of heartfelt – and funny – speeches, incredible food – and lots of memories being made. Oh and I must mention the first dance (with CONFETTI!)
See… CONFETTI! Talk about setting the standard for all my future JFL couples!
Congratulations again Taela + Sam – thank you again for choosing me to document your first day as husband and wife. I cannot wait to see what your future holds as a married couple! I’m sure it will be nothing short of incredible!
