I am a huge fan of not following any rules – especially when it comes to your Wedding Day (unless of course, those rules or traditions mean something to you!) So imagine my delight, when Richie & Mindi told me about how they envisaged their day. They wanted to have the Ceremony at 11am on a Sunday – because, well why not! – and they wanted to keep it super intimate, only gathering their nearest & dearest to be a part of their special day (the bigger part-ay would come later!) Being that it was a little bit of a surprise for their extended friends & family, I’ve been keeping these photos under lock & key – with both parents instructed not to share anything on Facebook until we had the all clear! Well friends, they announced their marriage over the weekend with a large celebratory shindig – and so, I’m SO excited to share their intimate Wedding Day with you!
Richie & Mindi, I can’t wait for you to see these images! Enjoy my favourites, and thank you again for trusting us to document your Wedding…. you guys are just the best!! We couldn’t be happier for you both and wish you all the very best for your married life together…
Here’s a glimpse into their Wedding Day Story:
Getting ready in a suite at The Watermark Hotel, I just had to take advantage of the orange decor. Gives the details a nice little pop of colour, don’t you think!
Just like Mindi, the morning was relaxed & calm… I honestly wouldn’t have expected anything else from this JFL bride-chilla!
Meanwhile, Richie & the guys spent their morning sipping on espresso… and then shortly followed by whiskey – as they got ready for the Ceremony across the road. Perfect for a Brisbane Wedding in Summer, they were dressed in cream chinos, white shirts and light blue suspenders. All looking very dapper I must admit!
The only thing with a morning wedding is that time goes even more quickly – which I didn’t think was possible. We hardly blinked and it was time to make our way across the road to the Harry Oakman Pavilion in the Roma Street Parklands for their Wedding Ceremony…
There were tears…
hugs & laughter… and a husband & wife were made!
With the amazing Annie from Annie Grace Ceremonies as their celebrant, I knew they were in the safest of hands. She lead a beautiful ceremony, tailored to their personal love story and journey as a couple. I seriously love working with Annie and always highly recommend her to all my couples!
The Roma Street Parklands makes for the prettiest photos with your bridal party, not to mention with the bride & groom. That light – love.
Mr & Mrs Harvey!
Deciding to have a morning wedding, also meant that their Wedding Reception spanned over lunch, instead of the traditional dinner. The function room at The Watermark Hotel made for a perfect backdrop – with the cake from Cake That, taking centre stage (with good reason!)
There were beautiful speeches…
a first dance between a newly married Richie & Mindi… and still time for everyone to hit the dancefloor!
A huge thanks to the following vendors for making Richie & Mindi’s wedding day as amazing as it was:
