From the first time I met up with Rach & Adam, I knew they were my kind of people. Not only were they super friendly, relaxed and in love – they also knew what they wanted their Wedding Day to look & feel like… and they weren’t afraid to do something a little bit different. We chatted about how they wanted to hold their Wedding on the family property in Stanthorpe, Glenisa – and would have guests travelling from near & far to join them. They envisaged not only a single day to celebrate – but an entire weekend to catch up with old friends, dance with new ones and spend time with those they love most in the world… and last weekend, their Stanthorpe Country Destination Wedding became a reality.
Adam & Rach, thank you for trusting us to document your wedding day… I know that you’re somewhere deep in the African jungle on your honeymoon, but hopefully a little bit of wifi will find you and you can see this sneak peek of the memories we were able to document. We wish you both all the best for your future as husband & wife and know that together, you’ll make an unstoppable team as a married couple! With love, K & N xx
Here’s a glimpse into their Wedding Day Story:
STANTHORPE BRIDAL PREP VENUE: AZURE STUDIO RETREAT, BALLANDEAN QLD
Rach & her girls got ready in amongst the vines at Azure Studio Retreat, the perfect place for a Wedding Day morning! I have to admit, between her florals, shoes & lace bridal gown… we were pretty much in bridal detail heaven!
After photographing Rach’s details, it was time to capture the finishing touches of her hair & makeup – before some fun champagne photos with her bridesmaids…
and then it was time for Rach to get dressed into her stunning Wedding Dress! The moment they’d all been waiting for all morning… isn’t that lace just beautiful! I adore those lace sleeves and the way the skirt gathers to the side, a perfect choice!
STANTHORPE COUNTRY DESTINATION WEDDING VENUE: GLENISA, PRIVATE PROPERTY
I adore when there is a heartfelt reason behind making a choice on a wedding day – and so when Rach & Adam told me a little about Glenisa, I understood how special it was for them to be married there. This 4th generation family property, not only held their Ceremony & Reception – but was also where they chose to have their ‘First Look’ as husband & wife.
A ‘First Look’ is a moment a few hours before the Ceremony, where the Bride & Groom see each other for the first time – and get to share an intimate moment together, just the two of them. Rach & Adam had chatted to me about this as they wanted to do their photos with the Bridal Party earlier in the day, to allow more time to relax with their guests after the Ceremony – rather than to be away taking photos. With friends & family travelling to celebrate with them, I totally understood why they wanted to spend as much time as possible with the people they love most in the world – so we sorted out the logistics and made it happen…
Doesn’t this moment just make your heart explode… you guys are just perfect. I just LOVE this.
After their First Look, we took the bridal party to a nearby location that we had already scouted out at Rach & Adam’s Engagement Session – an unused railway line! It made for the perfect backdrop for some photo fun with these guys… and these amazing girls even conquered the railway in heels. I think you’d agree with me, it was totally worth it!
Main Event Weddings planned, styled & created the florals for Rach & Adam’s Wedding (We love working with them, there is honestly nothing they can’t do!) How stunning are these bouquets, full of native beauties – a classic King Protea, Blushing Bride, Gum Nuts, Wax Flower & Garden Roses. Incredible!
After the photos with the Bridal Party, it was time to sneak back to Glenisa for their Wedding Ceremony! Rach & the bridesmaids had their hair & makeup touched up, whilst Adam started greeting all their guests…
Even though these two had experienced a first look earlier – there is still nothing compared to the feeling you get when you see your bride walking towards you – about to become your wife…
Their first photo as HUSBAND & WIFE!
After a lovely Ceremony, their group & family photos and some time with their guests, Rach & Adam snuck away for some sunset photos, just the two of them. This is the only non-negotiable I have on a Wedding Day – you have to get photos as husband & wife when the light is at its prettiest, which is the hour before the sun sets… otherwise, it breaks my heart a little. Plus, it’s always lovely to spend this time together to reflect on the fact that you’re now MARRIED – before you join in on the Reception Celebrations that are to come!
Just stunning you two!
While we finished up with their photos, the final touches were being put on their outdoor Reception by Main Event Weddings… the candles were being lit and their guests were getting ready to celebrate long into the night with the newly married couple…
I would have never thought of holding a Wedding Reception on a Tennis Court… but it just goes to show, when you have a talented team behind you – anything is possible! Plus, who doesn’t like partying under the summer star filled sky…
After Adam & Rach entered and joined their guests, they enjoyed some good food, speeches…
They cut their wedding cake – and then hit the dancefloor, with the tunes by The Radio Club Band filling the air. The perfect start to their life as a married couple.
Congratulations again Adam & Rach!
