I’m a BIG believer in magic. Not the rabbit out of a hat kind, but the magic that happens when two people find each other – out of the 7.5 billion people on this planet, they find each other. They fall in love – they promise to spend the rest of their life making the other happy. That’s magic – that’s real and that is what Michael & Danika share. I was honoured to document their first day as husband and wife, up at Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort on the Gold Coast and I must admit, the heavy fog that set in that day – only added to the amount of magic in the air!
Here is a glimpse into their Wedding Day Story:
Danika chose to spend the morning of her wedding at “The I-Do House” which was just perfect – surrounded by her closest friends & family, the morning was very relaxed, with everyone enjoying each others company – whilst being a little pampered by the fantastic hair & makeup artists she had found! Di’s Hair Design & Ashlee Mckinnon were incredible and I would highly recommend them to all of my future brides to be!
I love photographing the Bride’s details & Danika had some of the most beautiful florals that I have ever seen! I mean just look at that English Rose! (I think that’s what it is anyway… all I know for certain is that it is gorgeous and was made to hold Danika’s Engagement ring!)
Before long it was time for their Ceremony at Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort – where Michael was greeting their guests and waiting for his gorgeous bride to be… A little tip: it really helps to have a Celebrant that you connect with for your Wedding, Michael & Danika chose Josh Withers and in traditional Josh style, he kept Michael calm & collected while the minutes passed (which often feel much longer than they are when you’re waiting for your bride to arrive!)
The moment that changes everything… here comes the Bride, Michael’s soon to be wife!
After a very personal Ceremony – where their vows even included promises around the man-flu and supporting the Brisbane Broncos, I took the newlyweds around the venue for their Bridal Portraits. The positive of holding your Wedding at a venue that can host both your Ceremony & Reception means that there is no travel time to worry about and you get more time just to be together and reflect on the fact that you are now husband & wife! This is one of the reasons why I love Weddings that are at one location…
That wedding bouquet – took my breath away! Just stunning Florabunda Flowers!
The Waterfall Pavilion at Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort was styled beautifully for Michael & Danika’s Reception… using white, gold and lots of florals & foliage – stunning!
There was cake cutting, heart felt speeches, first dances… all the things a good Wedding Reception is made up of!
We couldn’t leave before stealing the newlyweds for a night photo with that magical fog… Congratulations again you two – I wish you nothing but the very best together as husband & wife! Thank you again for trusting us to document your Wedding Day! Love Kylie & Nick xx
